New Beginnings, A Helping Hand program holds a deeply personal significance for me. As a mother of a recovering heroin addict, I understand the challenges and stigma associated with addiction firsthand. Witnessing my daughter's journey to sobriety, now eight years clean and thriving, has been both difficult and rewarding. It's disheartening to hear the misconceptions and ignorance surrounding addiction, which is why breaking the stigma is crucial to me. This program is my way of making a difference.
New Beginnings is a compassionate program designed to support individuals who are embarking on the journey of recovery from substance abuse. By providing encouragement, incentives, and practical assistance, the program aims to empower participants to embrace a new chapter in their lives free from addiction.
For participants entering the OHIO Start program or drug court, we provide Welcome Bags filled with comforting items like a sport bottle, spiral notebook, pen, hand lotion, lip balm, and a stress handball to help them feel at ease.
Progressing through the program's phases is a significant achievement, so we offer incentives such as hygiene products, cleaning supplies, games to play with their children and other misc items upon completion of each phase.
Upon graduation, we celebrate their success with thoughtful gifts—a journal and pen for females along with an 8x10 frame for their graduation certificate, and a wallet and 8x10 frame for males, to commemorate their accomplishment.
Additionally, we extend our support to their children by providing birthday and Christmas presents, aiming to alleviate any strain or triggers they may face.
New Beginnings is committed to providing compassionate support and encouragement to individuals on their journey to recovery from substance abuse. Through acts of kindness, incentives for progress, and support for their families, we strive to empower participants to embrace a brighter, healthier future free from addiction.
