Dawn E Scherma / Founder and Executive Director
- Dawn started By the Dawn's Early Light in February 2017.
- She is the Mother of a Recovering heroin addict and is raising her grandson.
- Is extremely passionate about making a difference in a Foster Child's Life
- Dawn wants those in recovery know that they are loved and that there are people out there who care about them and want to see them succeed in Life ~ Dawn is one of those people
- Has 3 Children and 3 Grandchildren - which are her world
- Works full time as an Office Manager at an Adoption Agency.

Becca Ucker / President
- Becca joined By the Dawn's Early light in December 2020 after volunteering for the Organization for a couple years.
- Education, helping Children and Others has always been a key principle in life.
- Becca resides in Macedonia, OH and is a Pre-Primary Director at a Montessori School.
Susan Koehler / Sr. Vice President
- Susan joined By the Dawn's Early Light in September, 2021. She has 1 son & 2 grandsons. Susan has served on various non-profit boards such as Susan G Komen (NE Ohio) & Alley Cat Advocates (KY).
- She enjoys retirement & stays active with volunteer work, rowing, & hiking. Susan resides in Macedonia, OH.
Laura Mazzola / Jr. Vice President
- Laura joined the Board in September 2021
- She is retired from University Hospital Internal Medicine Group of Cleveland.
- Is widowed an works part time for St. Benedict School.
- Hobbies include: Reading, crocheting, and enjoying family and friends
- She says that she LOVES being a part of By the Dawn's Early Light
- Laura resides in Garfield Hts., OH
Susan Dent / Secretary
- Susan joined By the Dawn's Early Light in January 2023
- Science Instructor at the College Level
- Has two adult children
- Free Lance Writer
- Passionate about many hobbies including quilting and scrapbooking
- Susan reside in Broadview Hts., Ohio
Becky Grell / Treasurer
- Becky joined By the Dawn's Early Light in January of 2023
- She loves the idea of something bigger than herself to help and give back to others
- Volunteerism is important in our society and she feels that we each have something to bring to the table and share with others
- Becky resides in Macedonia, Ohio
Stephen Moore / Board Member
- Stephen joined By the Dawn's Early Light in November 2022. Stephen has experience in sales and growth strategies.
- Stephen has a passion for helping others and is always looking for opportunities to help.
- Stephen resides in Bainbridge Township, OH.
Trish Numbers / Board Member
- Trish joined By the Dawn's Early Light in December 2023
- Trish has served on several Non-Profit boards in the past, including the Make - A - Wish Foundation, Adaline House - an Orphanage and the ARC of Ohio North East
- Trish was an ESL Teacher, has two grown children and two granddaughters, who are the Light of her life.
- Trish and her husband Scott anre both newly retired and reside in Twinsburg, OH

- Amy loves to volunteer her time to help others

- Sindy joined By the Dawn's Early Light in September, 2021.
- She has 3 sons (1 of them adopted) & loves working with children.
- Sindy is passionate about volunteering with a diverse set of organizations.

John Conaway / Volunteer
- John joined By the Dawn's Early Light in September, 2021. He has 5 sons & loves children & animals. He spent some time in foster homes & shelters as a young child so this org is very dear to him. He was a day camp attendee and counselor for The Salvation Army for many years of his youth.
- John has volunteered for many organizations including The Salvation Army & Susan G Komen.
- John resides in Macedonia, OH and helps maintain the website and other technical support.
